Quilt-Along Complete!

I decided to follow along with Kelly Young's Quilt-Along at My Quilt Infatuation at the beginning of the summer and have finished my quilt.  It's always a great feeling to have a finished project.  This quilt is a perfect lap quilt that I'm gifting myself.  This is the first quilt I've made that I'm keeping.  I feel a little guilty keeping this one, but since the person I have to answer to is myself, I'm letting that feeling go.  I'm just going to enjoy having this one in my home.

  10. Love the colors, and the way you pieced the back! I'm currently working on my own quilt for myself (like you I always give mine away). It only took me 5 years to do it!

  19. Love the Amy Butler fabrics, those big prints need generous sized pieces to show off their pretty colours and patterns! Rectangles rock!

  21. Gorgeous finish. Surround yourself with what you love=quilts!! Once I was in the home of a well known local quilter and was very shocked and disappointed to not see one quilt anywhere! Enjoy your handiwork!

  28. Great quilt. If you had shown the same number of pictures of the back as the front I would have thought you had done 2 spectacular quilts. One side is as pretty as the other.

  29. Janet, that's an amazing quilt - front and back!!! I don't blame you at all for keeping it for yourself. I make a lot of charity quilts each year, but when I go on vacation each summer, I take my sewing machine and make a quilt for myself in the evenings while I'm gone. It's just a little gift to myself, and I don't feel guilty about it at all - because it's only once a year!

Whoop whoop for your beautiful finish!!

  32. I love the way we can come online and find others just happening to be at the same stage we are in some way or another. That is to say, I just put the finishing stitches on my first quilt for myself too!

I don't know how you could pick a favorite side of this quilt; they 're both great. Enjoy it!

  33. Sweet quilt and I love the backing! Good for you keeping this one for yourself! Who could blame you? It is sew-weet!

  35. This quilt is amazing. I love all the bold prints. Sometimes I worry that something like this won't work. The finished quilts are always great, though. I'm not sure anyone but you would really appreciate like you do.
