A First for Continuous Circles

I have reached beyond straight-line quilting this time and taken on continuous circles.

The center was challenging, but I pushed through it at a slow and steady pace.

Once I got away from the center, the quilting went much faster and I was surprised at how quickly I was able to finish last night.

I'll be making the binding this evening and sewing it onto the quilt.  I'll have the rest of the weekend to finish hand-stitching the binding.  I think the dark plum will frame this quilt nicely.  You also get a sneak peak of the back in this picture.

My goal is to have this one in the mail by Monday.  Wish me luck!

  2. Looks great! I've been so intimidated by this I haven't tried it yet. Really like how the bird is centered in the middle of star.

  15. Those continuous circles look great. Makes the bird and butterflies look like they are really in flight if you ask me. The deep purple/plum color is really lovely. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt post!
